Our 2017 Family Highlights

Wow, I can’t believe 2017 is coming to a close! It has been an epic year for our family… lots of changes, lots of trials, and lot of joys! When I think about all that we went through, and came through this past year. I am not only thankful, but I am relieved.
*My husband started a new law enforcement job, continuing his career as a police officer after moving here to Iowa from Colorado in the spring of 2016. This was a huge accomplishment, after six long months of academy ….. long hours, blood, sweat, and time away from us, but we made it through as a family and I am so proud of him and the work he does!

He is our hero!!
* I ran my 6th half marathon the beginning of June and enjoyed all the training that helped me to run the race! Running is my way to unwind, de-stress, and for me to have quiet time alone with God. I may not be the fastest runner, but I love the feeling of accomplishment, and those endporphins I get after a run. I look forward to getting back into running in 2018 after taking a break this fall!

A beautiful view from the starting line at Saylorville Dam in the Dam to Dam half marathon….this is one of the hotest races I have run. It got up to 85 degrees by 8am with lots of humidity!
*Our oldest, Drake, started his first year of pre-school, and he loves it! He is a very active boy, and loves all the hands on learning activities, and being around his friends.

*We love to go on dates after school once a month to catch up, and so I can spend quality, one-on one time with him!

* He is such a big boy, I can’t belive how big, and mature he is becoming! Time slow down!!
* It was our family goal this fall to try and slow down when we could, focusing on spending time together as a family! We made a lot of wonderful memories…
At the fair…

At the apple orchard and pumpkin patch…

*I had a fun, reunion weekend with my girls back on Colorado in October!

* Reconnecting with sweet friends was such a blessing! These are my 2am freinds…the ones who know my heart, who love me for who I am, who have walked with my in hard seasons, and no matter how much time passes, we are able to connect and leave right where we left off!

*Colorado will always hold a special place in my heart. It is where I lived through so many pivital, life chaning years in my life…. as a young 23 year old right of of college, where I started my career in fashion, where my life completely changed for the better as I became a Christ follower, where I met my life long friends, where I met my husband, where we got married, where our children were born….

*We love exploring our new town and surounding areas! Iowa is a great place to raise our family, and we are thankful to be where we are at.

*The kids contuine to blossom and grow….I am so thankful to be they’re mama! Life can be a bit chaotic at times raising two toddlers, but I wouldn’t have it anyother way! They are truly best friends and playmates…I love to watch them interact and love each other so well.

*Shay loves to get dressed up and pick out her own outfits, just like mommy. She is truly my mini-me. I think we have a little fashionista in training on our hands!! And I love that she loves to take photos with me!

*Our handsome spiderman and little princess on Halloween.

Looking back on the past year I can’t help but be thankful for all the things my family and I have been blessed with! Two beautiful, healthy children, our new home and life in Iowa, 7 wonderful years of marriage to my best friend, loving family, old and new friends, the list goes on. Yet it is so easy sometimes to take all those things for granted. Wishing we have more or wishing our circomstances were somehow different. I am reminded this holiday season and as another year comes to a close, the importance of graditide and contentment.
Beng thankful for all my circumstnaces, and all that I have can really have an affect on my heart and daily attitude. I want to wake up each day with a sense of graditude for ALL that God has given me. Being grateful for the little blessings each day, like being able to stay home with my kids, for owning my own business, and this style blog, for be able to persure my passion of helping and encouraging other women and mom’s! For all the friends both new and old who God has brought into my life. For a loving, patient husband who supports me as I chase my dreams, and for waking up to live another day!
I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for following along on this journey of style, and motherhood, as I contuine to learn and grow into the wife and woman God created me to be. I hope you find encouragement, laughter, joy, and are inspired when you spend time here on this blog and on my social media channels!
