A denim jacket is a year around staple in my wardrobe! It’s a great, light weight layering option in fall/winter over a long sleeve or sweater. And in the spring/summer this closet work horse pairs well with a sleeveless maxi dress, solid or stripe t-shirt dress, or with a basic tee and shorts.

Here is my current favorite way to wear a denim jacket this summer…

I’m loving this looser boyfriend style jacket, in a lighter wash these days. It is a ode to the early 90’s, which is really trending right now! (Brings me back to the good old days….high waisted jeans, grunge, distressing, velvet, & body suits…remember the movie Clueless?!)

This boyfriend denim jacket is so chic worn over a simple stripe tee or tank, black shorts, paired with printed lace-up sandals. This is my go-to look if I have a work meeting, I want to look a little more polished, or want a comfy date night look. These black shorts dress up a normally casual feeling jacket. And by adding a gold statement necklace, this look is automatically elevated.

I channeling my inner-Parisian woman by adding black sunnies and a lady-like shoulder bag. By adding a few simple and feminine accessories this outfit went from “simple” to “stand-out” with minimal effort!
